In this 1 hour lecture, Consultant Orthodontist Dr David Waring will cover how the Maintain Retainer, developed in partnership with David Waring and Bob Cappelli, offers a convenient and easy solution to the age-old challenges clinicians face when providing long-term retention. He will share top tips on how to achieve the best results with Maintain through case studies, and the laboratory procedures will be explained. Before closing, there will also be an opportunity to talk to David and the Studio 8 Laboratory team in the Q&A session.

Dr David Waring - Consultant Orthodontist and Creator of Maintain

I qualified in Dentistry from Leeds University Dental School. After various general practice and hospital posts, including a (very enjoyable) spell with the Flying Doctor service in Australia, I entered into specialist Orthodontic training. I completed my specialist training in Orthodontics at Liverpool University Dental Hospital & I began a Consultant Orthodontist post at the University of Manchester Dental Hospital. I also work in a private specialist orthodontic practice at Northenden House Orthodontics. I was Clinical Lead from 2008- 2018 and I am now Training Programme Director (TPD) for Orthodontics within the Manchester region. I have recently taken on the Chair of the British Orthodontic Conference and chaired my 1st conference in Glasgow in 2019. I have supervised MSc dissertations and published nationally and internationally. I am also an examiner for the M.Orth examination at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the ISFE. Outside of Orthodontics, I try to play squash (poorly!) and cycle (slowly!).
