Case study

The patient was a 25-year-old female, who presented with a class 1 malocclusion with 4mm overjet. Her gingival health was good, and there were no additional contraindications.

The patient wanted to straighten her teeth and to also have a brighter smile. She opted for clear aligners over fixed braces. The treatment was complete within eight appointments, over a time duration of eight months.

For the whitening treatment, 16% Carbamide Peroxide Autograph whitening was used over two weeks. The patient had initially presented with no contraindications, good enamel health and did not experience any sensitivity to the gels.

To maintain the results, the patient was given removable retainers and was advised to wear them on a night-only basis. She has follow up appointments booked in three months’ time to see how she is getting on.
