DB Orthodontics Family Scores a Hat Trick of Awards

Last week, DB Orthodontics scooped three awards for worldwide exports in orthodontic, dental and dental laboratory products.

Winning the Federation of Small Business - International Business of the Year for Yorkshire and Humberside, we now go onto the National final in May 2021 and have everything crossed for further success next year!

A trio of trophies

We also went on to win at the Northern Powerhouse Export Awards. Winning Small Exporter of the Year was certainly a superb achievement considering the high calibre of the entrants.

Overall winners

The success didn’t end there; we were overall winners of the night; beating over 120 entries from all over the north of England in gaining the top prize of Exporter of the Year.

The Northern Powerhouse Awards were held on an online event where all entrants watched from the comfort of their own home.

Keeping it in the family

Based in Silsden, West Yorkshire, family business DB Orthodontics is led by Managing Director David Burdess, alongside son and daughter directors Christian Burdess and Victoria Coppack.

In 1996, David set up the business with Christian selling a selection of orthodontic products for the UK and Irish market. In 2001 Victoria joined; and over the years the business has grown into a 45 employee strong team that exports to over 70 countries. The company’s innovative product development for the orthodontic, dental technology and dental market goes hand-in-hand with their education programmes, and these two elements keep the company moving forward.

Down to earth, non-pretentious and focused on both the needs of the patient and clinician, DB team prides itself on giving a friendly and personal service. Product design begins at their Silsden HQ, which also houses sales, design, warehouse and quality teams. Having everything under one roof means they are extremely adaptable to meet every customer’s needs.

Hard work and Yorkshire grit

Director Victoria Coppack commented, “Hard work and Yorkshire grit definitely contributes to our success. We produce innovative products with our clinical advisors, and education is key within our business strategy. We are thrilled that our team’s hard work has been recognised in this way and especially after such a challenging year”.

DB Orthodontics are looking forward to a bright 2021 that builds on existing relationships with their global partners. They’ll be looking to expand their brand presence on the world stage, yet keeping it real with a healthy dash of Yorkshire charm.
